We answer the most frequently asked questions about our programmes and how to access them.


Access depends on the programme. For the programme supporting vulnerable young people, referrals are made through the social services departments of participating local councils. For other programmes, you can contact us directly via the online form, by phone or via WhatsApp, and we will provide you with information with no obligation.El acceso depende del programa. We currently have active agreements with the local councils of Garachico, Buenavista del Norte, Los Silos, Icod de los Vinos and El Tanque. We have two branches of our own: one in Garachico and another in San Isidro.

Yes. The Canary Islands Dental Foundation is a non-profit organisation. Our programmes are designed to ensure access to dental care for people who would otherwise be unable to access it, always giving priority to the most vulnerable groups.

The P.L.D. Method (Tongue-Based Detection of Dental Plaque) is a technique developed by Dr Claudia Rodríguez Maradei to enable people with visual impairments to detect bacterial plaque independently. It has been endorsed by the Ethics Committee of the Canary Islands Hospital Complex.El Método P.L.D. (Percepción Lingual de barrido de la Placa Dental) es una técnica creada por la Dra. Claudia Rodríguez Maradei para que las personas con discapacidad visual puedan detectar la placa bacteriana de forma autónoma. Está avalado por el Comité de Ética del Complejo Hospitalario de Canarias. More informacion about this method.
